The Land Before Text

My friend Ann and I were talking about kids and technology the other day.

"If you would have told kids 10 years ago that in the future they would type all their conversations with their friends, they would have thought you were crazy," she said. 

It seems her son Nick is texting up a storm with his pals. Ann was sharing her conversation with Nick on the subject.  

Curious about the murky, distant past, Nick had asked, "How did you talk to your friends before there was texting, did you just email each other all the time?"
